Monetization of User Services
12:00-13:30, Tuesday 8th October
With gigabit and higher speeds becoming the norm, operators must find ways to differentiate beyond basic connectivity. At the same time, competing against hyperscalers with their vast cloud architectures in providing a wide array of services is challenging.
This panel will look at the access and home network technologies that service providers are using or plan on using to bring value-added services to their customers. It will look at how service providers are striving to provide a better customer experience as they deliver existing and new services.
Speakers include:
- Gunter Reiss, CMO – DZS
- Tzvi Skapinker, VP of Product Management – Friendly Technologies

Fiber may be the ideal future, but copper and wireless solutions will be necessary to serve all locations. This panel will take a near-term and longer-term horizon to see how the various access technology puzzle pieces fit today and tomorrow.
What are the various access technologies that are necessary and how do they need to evolve to meet the needs of a multiple types of customers each requiring a specific mix of services.? The discussion will also include the role of software defined networks and network function virtualization to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and open the network to multiple providers and equipment.
Speakers include:
- Cláudio Rodrigues, Head of Optical Devices and Components Development – Altice Labs
- Phil Fine, Director Broadband Access Solutions – Ciena
